Scott Turner Schofield performing “Debutante Balls”

The Pat Graney Company and the National Performance Network present “Debutante Balls,” a solo performance piece by Scott Turner Schofield about his transgender experience as a Debutante in the South. The performances will be held Wednesday, May 17th and Friday, May 19th, with 7:00pm and 10:0pm shows, taking place at Richard Hugo House on Capitol Hill.
The 7pm shows will also feature a performance showcase called “Words Can’t Describe,” with local performers who will have participated in Schofield’s workshop series as a part of his artist residency. Scott Turner Schofield, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, will be in Seattle for an artist residency, May 6th-21st.
The residency consists of a two-week writing and performance workshop series called “Words Can’t Describe,” co-sponsored by Richard Hugo House, with Beginning and Advanced classes May 8-10 and 14-16.
“Words Can’t Describe” will end with a performance showcase that will open the 7pm shows of “Debutant Balls” on May 17th and 19th.
On May 20th, Schofield will close his residency by hosting a “Trans-Ally Community Forum” taking place at The Seattle LGBT Community Center, from 3-5pm- free of charge, with a panel of community members who will be using storytelling as a way to personalize issues in community and gender/sexual identity.
